Professional Biography
Aideen Ní Riada – Holistic Singing Coach Aideen Ní Riada is a holistic singing coach helping people to reclaim their voice & learn to sing for fun. Since launching Confidence in Singing in 2016, Aideen has been featured on RTE’s Nationwide, Beat 102 103, and South East Radio, with mentions for her work in Ireland’s Own and the health supplement of the Irish Independent.

Even after a childhood of singing in choirs and musicals and taking singing lessons throughout her college years, Aideen still didn’t believe in herself. At a personal development workshop in her late 20s, she was asked “what is your dream, Aideen?.” Her reply? “I want to be a singer but I can’t do that”. “I was controlled by my insecurities and found it hard to feel confident with my creativity. When I found my true message and the most authentic part of myself, I suddenly found I was able to stand up and be seen, and what was a struggle began to feel easy and fun.

Now I am passionate about helping others to step out of the shadows into all they came here to be.” Aideen studied Psychology at University College Dublin which has helped her to develop a teaching and mentoring style that helps students become more confident and overcome self-limiting beliefs.

She has a diverse range of singing education and experience, from classical and jazz singing to speech level singing and the Estill Voice Training method. She has also been awarded a Diploma in Popular Vocal Music Teaching from the London College of Music. Aideen founded Confidence in Singing based on her passion for giving students the confidence to find their voice, face their fears and just have fun with singing through singing lessons and workshops. She now also mentors women who are struggling to speak up in their home life, work or social lives.

Aideen also produces her own original music both as a solo artist and in the band Cosmic DNA.

Here Are 5 Tips To Help You Through These Challenged Times
1. Breathing is key. I teach all my singers to relax more when they breathe. To begin just sigh and notice your tummy relax. Them follow the release and receiving of the breath with your mind to come into the moment

2. Enjoy music more! Use your favourite songs to lift your spirits. Play music in the car, in the kitchen and in the garden. It feels good!

3. Join groups where you can just be yourself. If singing is your thing then maybe The Singing Room would be a good fit for you. Otherwise, call your friends. Don’t isolate yourself.

4. Nature is full of music – get out for a walk and open the windows. The birds are putting on a concert just for you. The trees are waving their leaves at you in the wind! Notice nature more and you’ll feel better.

5. Reach out for help when you are feeling lost or lonely. There is always someone to call. Keep trying until you connect with someone who cares.
