It’s a long time I haven’t posted anything, and I wanted to share this with you. It’s a powerful text which I printed, laminated and put up on the wall of my beauty salon for all my clients to read, be inspired by and find peace of mind in times of anxiety.
I know it helps me every day when things are not happening my way, or something IS happening and I don’t want it to happen. When I remember these few lines, it immediately puts me back in my place, makes me smell the roses and find inner peace, and helps me think and feel that, yes, everything is as it should be. Even though I have a natural resistance, like having fleeting thoughts like, I can’t believe it, oh no, not again, but why did it happen, you know, being human, like! Since I read this text, those thoughts only last a few seconds, as opposed to a few hours before. Because I KNOW that it happens for such a good reason that I will hear myself exclaim, oh thank god it hasn’t happened, or, oh thank god it has happened, because look, all that happened thanks to that event not happening (or happening as the case may be). I learned to thank straight away when such an event occurs.
Just as an example, before Christmas, a client cancelled me at the last second. I silently thanked her in my mind, and thought, it happens for the best of reasons, and it’s for everybody’s highest good. Well….low and behold…..Ten minutes later, my mum rang me on whatsapp video from a Decathlon shop (sport shop in France with very reasonable prices and fantastic clothes for all sports) to ask me which fleece I wanted for Christmas for the motorbike. They’re extremely warm and geared towards North Pole expeditions. Yes, in Ireland that’s what you need for biking in the winter! I was able to direct her towards the men section where the best fleeces were, whereas she was in the women section. She even asked a lovely salesman to model the fleece for her, as he was the same height as me. It was her only day in this shop before she flew to Ireland, and she just caught me at the best of times, thanks to my client not turning up.
I could give lots of examples like this one, knowing that, had I wallowed in self pity and had “poor me poor me” thoughts, my energy would have repelled the opportunities presented to me.
So here is the text:
In India, Four Laws of Spirituality are taught:
The first law says:
- “The person who comes to your life is the right person.”
No one comes to our life by chance, all the people who surround us, who interact with us, who we encounter, are there for a reason.
The second law says:
- “What happens is exactly what’s supposed to happen.”
Nothing, absolutely nothing that happens in our lives could have happened in any other way. Not even the most insignificant detail. There is no: “If I hadn’t done this thing then, this other thing would’ve not happened… “. No. What happened was exactly what’s supposed to happen, and it had to be that way so we could learn the necessary lessons and move forward.
The third law says:
- “Any time you start, is the right time.”
It all starts at the right time, not before, not after. When we are ready for something new to begin in our lives, it will begin.
And the fourth and last law says:
- “When something ends, it ends.”
Just like that. If something ended in our lives, it was for our own good, so it’s better to leave it there and move on, already enriched with that experience.
I do not think it is a coincidence you are reading these four laws of spirituality right now. If this text reaches your life today, it is because you are prepared to understand that no snowflake ever falls into the wrong place!
There you go! I really hope that will help you as well to relativise, take a breath and give you peace of mind, so that, yes, everything is as it should be.
